Pit stop and driver change at Grand Prix of Miami

Randy Ruhlman will be featured on SpeedFreaks and www.sportstalknetwork.com radio shows

Greensboro, NC  (March 31, 2006) – Randy Ruhlman won the Long Beach Grand Prix Trans-Am race last year in his #49 Preformed Line Products Corvette with Derhaag Motorsports.  He will be returning to the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach this year, not to defend that win, but to race in the Grand American Rolex Cup race in the new #40 Derhaag Motorsports Daytona Prototype.  Ruhlman will be featured this weekend on SpeedFreaks radio and on the "Reece on Racing" show to talk about the upcoming 2006 Long Beach Grand Prix Rolex Cup race and his change from Trans-Am to the Daytona Prototypes.

Randy Ruhlman will make a return appearance on SpeedFreaks this Saturday night, April 1 at 5:20 PM EST, the country's largest motorsports radio show.  Ruhlman will also be returning as a guest on "Reece on Racing" on www.sportstalknetwork.com, Monday, April 3 at 9:15 PM EDT. The live motorsports sports show combines cutting edge Internet radio, streaming video, and national fan call-in participation.

Ruhlman has moved over for 2006 to drive the #40 Preformed Line Products Pontiac Riley for Derhaag Motorsports with full season co-driver, Chris Bingham.  So far this year, the team successfully finished at the Rolex 24 At Daytona (with additional co-drivers Ron Fellows and Justin Bell) and has just gotten back from significant runs the Mexico City and Homestead-Miami Speedway Rolex Cup races.

"This is a whole new deal, not only for me, but the entire team.  We had a fantastic season last year with Trans-Am and Derhaag Motorsports, but it ended up being the final year of Trans-Am's 40-year racing history.  We were very sad to see Trans-Am end, but Grand American Rolex Cup is THE place to be.  The caliber of drivers here is phenomenal, the equipment is high tech, and the racing is non-stop excitement," says Ruhlman of the change from the Trans-Am Series to the Daytona Prototype cars in the Grand American Rolex Series presented by Royal Crown Special Reserve.

As well as being the winner of the 2005 Long Beach Grand Prix Trans-Am race, Randy Ruhlman won the Cleveland Grand Prix, was named the 2005 BBS "Most Improved Driver of the Year", and was runner up for the 2005 Trans-Am Drivers' Championship. Ruhlman makes the record books as fourth in Top Ten finishes in Trans-Am history.  A veteran race car driver, Ruhlman has extensive racing experience, predominantly in road racing in the Trans-Am Series, as well as in IMSA, ASA and the NASCAR short track series.

Randy Ruhlman has spent time between races working with the Buckle Up America program helping to promote seat belt use, and last year was the keynote speaker at the Cleveland House of Blues Kick-off of the Northeast Ohio "Click It or Ticket" campaign.  As an avid bicycle rider, Ruhlman combines his passion for the road with his desire to help others by working closely with the Lance Armstrong Foundation and their charity rides across the country.

SpeedFreaks continues to own the title of the country's largest motorsports radio show. Ruhlman's appearance this Saturday night, April 1 will be at 5:20 PM EST.  The show, which runs from 4-6 PM ET / 1-3 PM PT, can be most easily heard on Sirius Satellite Channel 122.  SpeedFreaks can also be heard every Sunday Night on the Freak Radio Network from 10 PM - 12 AM ET.  The FRN houses over 80 radio stations across the United States including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas-Ft.
